A CASE STUDY FOR THE INSTALLATION OF A DC INVERTER WATER COOLED CONDENSER TO AIR CONDITION AN APARTMENT IN A CONSERVATION AREA

The apartment within a grade 2 listed period red brick house is situated in the Courtfield Conservation Area within the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea.

The owners wished to air condition an upper bedroom, but due to listed building restrictions, they were not allowed to fit a traditional external condenser box. Also they were not allowed to drill any holes in the outside walls of the building.

The best solution available to air condition this bedroom, was our energy efficient DC inverter water cooled internal condenser air conditioning system that allows everything to be retained within the property.

For this installation, a water cooled condenser was installed in the adjacent study within a storage cupboard, to supply an energy efficient, quiet, DC inverter high wall unit in the upper floor bedroom.

Our technical team were able to connect the refrigerant pipework between the condenser and the room unit through the linking wall, enabling all the pipework to be concealed. Throughout the installation, there was minimal disruption to the existing decoration.

For this project we installed:
1 x 3.5kw water-cooled DC Inverter condenser

This served:
1x 3.5kw (12,000btu) DC Inverter cooling high wall unit
